Cultural Events Committee Co-Chair Siavash was born in Darya Kenar, Iran and moved to Seattle with his family shortly after his first birthday. He grew up in a household where his parents diligently raised their children to appreciate and identify with Iranian culture. Siavash continues to make regular trips back to Iran to visit family and friends, and he hopes to one day be able to take his children back to Iran so that they can share his experiences and love for Iran and its rich culture. Siavash is currently a pre-Law student at the University of Washington, double majoring in Law, Societies, and Justice with an emphasis on Human Rights Law, as well as Near Eastern and Persian Studies. Siavash joined the IACA after participating in the UW Persian Circle and working with other IACA members. He currently serves as the Cultural Education Co-Chair and a Board Member, with the goal to continue to expand the IACA while promoting and embracing the organization's goals and values. |
