Community Service Committee |
Purpose
- To organize community service opportunities for Iranians and Iranian Americans in order to present a positive face of Iranians to the larger Puget Sound community.
- To build leadership within Iranian and Iranian American youth.
- To educate Iranians and Iranian Americans about social issues in the community.
Accomplishments
- June 2007 - "Chaya Fundraiser,” purchased a table at a fundraiser, supporting a community based, nonprofit organization raising awareness about domestic violence and serving South Asian women, including Iranian and Afghani, in times of crisis.
- April 2007 - "Clean and Green Initiative," two weekends of cleaning and planting along the streets of Seattle as a part of Mayor Nickels' initiative.
