Purpose
- To foster dialogue about civic issues concerning the Iranian and Iranian American communities, such as civil rights, immigration, or racism.
- To educate ourselves and the Iranian and Iranian American communities about such issues.
- To take action against injustice the Iranian American community is facing.
- To foster leaders devoted to working toward these aims.
- To support groups and other communities facing similar issues.
Accomplishments
- October 2007 - "Media Coverage of US-Iran Relations," short lectures and conversationprovidinginformationto make sense of news coverage on US-Iran relations.
- August, April 2007 - “Know Your Rights Training,” Clarifying Immigration Law for Persian Speakers, including applying for afamily visa, citizenship and naturalization, refugee/asylum status, andprotection from domestic violence.
