Cultural Education Committee |
Purpose
To create cultural and educational events to unify and strengthen the Iranian-American community in Seattle.
Responsibilities
- Plan a Norooz Event.
- Plan the Seattle Iranian Festival (an annual, large-scale, cultural festival at the Seattle Center).
- Assist other cultural organizations (such as UW Persian Circle) with cultural events.
- Work with the fundraising committee to create great fundraising events.
Accomplishments
- June 2007 - Hosted the first Iranian Festival in Seattle, gathering an estimated 2,000 people of all ages and backgrounds for music, dance, children's activities, tea, food, film, and fun.
- April 2007 - Hosted a picnic for SizdehBedar, gathering an estimated 250 people to celebrate this 13th day after the Persian New Year.
